Destination wedding photographer | Riu Bambu | Dominican Republic | Amy and John

I first met Amy and John at Winnie and Jing’s wedding in Mexico about a year ago. So when John asked me to shoot their wedding in the Caribbean, I had to think long and hard about it. Haha jk. I told him he didn’t need to ask twice!

The more international weddings I shoot, the more I’m convinced: if you want to maximize fun, minimize planning, get married in a beautiful location, spend less money, and have a great vacation/honeymoon to boot, decide on a destination wedding and invite all your good friends! Protip: Go with an off-season date for even crazier discounts for you and your guests.

Amy and John were so relaxed and easy-going. Due to sporadic showers, we didn’t even know a couple hours prior to the wedding if the ceremony could still be held by the beach, or if we had to make a last minute venue change! Many couples would be stressing out, but these two had mastered the art of holding things with an open palm. I was very impressed! At the last minute, the skies cleared up, and everything was … beautiful. 🙂

Lol. The girls couldn’t contain their joy even before we did the Reveal.

You can’t tell from the pictures, but the floors were still quite wet from the rain a few minutes ago.

The rain finally stopped, clear blue skies, the guys are ready … good to go!

:’)

Happy dance!

Haha I love this picture with the two of them skipping away.

You won’t believe how many pictures my editor and I had to photoshop in order to remove the sweat stains. The place was humid!

Haha guess how many tries it took us?
